After a couple of trips to the big leagues with the NY Giants and Detroit Tigers in the late '40's 
Marv teamed up in 1952 with a left handed pitcher on the White Sox who won 15 games in 1951 to form
a credible 1-2 punch. They would go on to win 27 games between them in 1952.
